I am not really sure whether I need to upgrade to the latest version now and turn my site into a guineapig. It’s a real serious matter when it comes to testing new versions. Problems like plugins and theme compatibility issues might just turn my blog into a list of error messages.

The total download of WP 2.1 as I write this post is currently 164,883 out of millions of bloggers. Not really a good sign as not everyone seem to have the interest of testing it on their own without reading a whole lot of reviews written for the lastest version. I would honestly download and test it out of curiousity and make my own statement in a few days.

With some basic updates on the blog engine, doesn’t seem ot be very much of a package. You can view a list of their new features and see for yourself. Not that I expected it to be a whole lot like another type of blog engine, but I guess this new version has something new and good for developers and bloggers alike.

Let’s just hope my current theme, plugins and the whole enchalada would have no problems with compatibility after I move to Dreamhost in a few days.
